New Client Inquiry

Our Booking Process

Once you submit our online form, we initiate the three-step process below within two business hours of receiving your inquiry.

Intake

Our Client Service Manager will assist you with the initial steps of the booking process. We will complete a conflict check together and gather some basic information to ensure our firm is the right fit for your situation.

1
Book

Once the intake is complete, you can book your consultation online (or by phone) with your preferred lawyer or the lawyer best suited to your situation. For your convenience, consultations are available in person at our office or remotely by phone or video.

2
Meet

During the consultation, you will have the opportunity to share your story, ask questions specific to your situation, evaluate the overall fit with our firm, learn about the legal options available to you, and gain a general understanding of the legal strategy or action plan (including estimated time and fees) required to move your matter forward toward resolution or completion. There is no obligation to retain us after the consultation, but we can move quickly with next steps if and when you decide to proceed.

FAQs

Below are some of the most common questions about our legal consultations and booking process.

What is the fee for the consultation?

Consultations are offered at 50% of our standard hourly rates, and most consultations are booked for 30 minutes. The average cost of a consultation at our firm ranges from $85 to $145 CAD. When a consultation is booked with a Partner, an associate may also attend at no additional cost. For clients who retain the firm under a Standard Retainer, the full consultation fee is credited toward future legal services.

Do you offer free consultations?

We do not offer free consultations. However, the full consultation fee is credited toward future legal services for clients who retain the firm under a Standard Retainer.

Do you accept Legal Aid?

Unfortunately, we do not accept Legal Aid certificates at this time. Please visit the Legal Aid Ontario website for a list of lawyers who can assist with legal aid matters.

Is the consultation mandatory?

Yes, all new clients need to complete the consultation with our firm. It is one of the most important steps in evaluating the overall fit between you and our firm.

Is the consultation confidential?

All information you share with our firm is strictly private and confidential. We will never share your information with your spouse or former spouse (or their lawyer).
